LAPPING MACHINES || Series 40
The Kemet 40 machines are an updated version of the Kemet 36 with larger diameter lapping plates and respectively larger holder and rings.
The lapping plate control system uses a separate motor and worm gearbox mounted on a floor base. The base is manufactured from hollow steel covered with removable panels for maintenance. The electrical controls are located on a console mounted on the front of the machine and to the rear of the machine is a second emergency STOP button.
As with all Kemet lapping machines, it is possible to adjust the position of the rings laterally in relation to the lapping plate so that it is possible to control perfectly flat surfaces.
The machine can be used with conventional abrasives or Kemet Diamond products.
The conventional abrasive distribution system consists of a stainless steel tank, a pump and a steel waste tank. The diamond liquid distribution system consists of an electronic distributor for total control of diamond liquid and lubricant dosing, a liquid mixing unit, two distribution bars and spraying heads.

- The Kemet lapping disc is mounted on a serrated cast iron plate measuring 1016mm OD x 210mm ID (40″ OD x 8 ¼" ID).
- Three 466mm OD x 406mm ID (16.5" OD x 16" ID) knurled cast iron rings.
The Kemet 40 lapping machines are also available in pneumatic lift-off versions.
